If you're in your healthy hair era, you'll know that avoiding bleach, heated styling tools and protecting your hair from harsh chemicals & environmental damage are some of the critical steps you'll need to take to improve the condition of your hair.
In this post, we’ll explore the benefits of hair oiling and how to maximize its effects, so you can enjoy your softest, silkiest hair ever!
Hair oil used: CORDINA Hair | Pre-Wash & Leave-in Hair Oil
Our 7 step formula is quick, easy and highly effective! Before we start, we're going to be using our CORDINA Hair Oil that targets the length of your hair. It is 100% plant based and is a clean and green formula with no silicones, perfume or other synthetic ingredients.

Apply Oil to hair
Start off with brushed out hair as this will allow for easier and better oil application. We recommend to pour
the oil in the palm of your hands first, rub together and then apply to the length of your hair.
Brush your hair in between so you can distribute the oil evenly and notice any areas where you may have missed.
2. Put your hair up
This is obvious, nobody wants to walk around for a few hours with super oily hair. We have a fancy bun we use along hair oiling and that's our Waver Bun. This allows for neat hair wrapping around the satin coated ring. It also looks neat and it doesn't pull at the roots like a typical bun. You can let the oil the marinate in your hair in a protective hairstyle.
3. Deep Oiling is where the magic happens
Once your hair is up in your bun, grab some cling film (you can get compostable ones!) and wrap it around your hair. This is going to trap warmth but also avoid any dust / dirt from landing on your oily hair!

4. Wear a hair turban on top
Once you have the cling film nicely wrapped around your hair. Grab a hair towel and wear it for 1-3 hours. this is going to keep that warmth in your hair and the oil is going to penetrate much better, you'll be shocked by how soft your hair will turn out and you'll never look back.
5. Wash your hair with our free gentle shampoo recipe - the magic continues at this step.
It's time to wash your hair with shampoo. Make sure you double cleanse! The downside to shampoos is that they are very harsh on your hair. The cleanse incredibly well and they can leave the hair feeling dry. We have a gentle shampoo recipe that you can download for free and it uses a mild surfactant that cleanses just as well. Our CORDINA Oil and Gentle Shampoo combo is the perfect duo for silky soft hair. We recommend to use the two together for best results.
6. Looking after damp hair
Once you've washed your hair, towel dry your hair in a turban and leave for a few minutes until all excess water has been soaked up. Avoid brushing hair when very wet. Use a wet detangler when brushing damp hair. Apply 3-5 drops of the CORDINA Leave In Oil to damp hair before blow- drying. You may wish to add a heat protectant spray at this stage too.
7. Blow-dry hair over airdry
Blow-drying your hair is better than air drying this is because damp hair is at its most fragile state and the longer the hair is wet/damp, the weaker it becomes, creating more unwanted damage and breakage. You can speed up the drying process by blow-drying your hair at an arms length. Be mindful of the temperature as that is when hair damage happens. If you blow dry at an arms length, the heat is not as intense on your hair. Once your hair is almost dry, you may need to either adjust the heat or how close the hair dryer is to your hair. Apply 3-5 drops to dry hair to protect, add shine, softness and tame frizz
